The Person I look up to the Most?

I always feel bad starting off with this, but I don't like how this is phrased! But that is OK!

There is not a single person I look up to, but rather a group of people I look up to, because each one taught me something important that I hope to always keep with me.

The First, is my Aunt Heather. She is a powerful and confident woman with the biggest heart I have seen on anyone. This woman is amazing, and above all the things she has done for me and those she loves around her, my favorite is how she took it upon herself to make a balloon arch picture booth for the class of 2020 at our local high school to celebrate their achievement even though COVID-19 took away their ability to have a large grand graduation ceremony. She did this out of the goodness of her heart, and the fact that she didn't sit idly by as the seniors had to 'deal' with losing an important milestone and instead got to work on something special and unique for that class to treasure for their lives, is one of the reasons I am so proud to be related to her and can only hope to be something like her when I become a more mature adult.

Second is my friend Kaitlyn, not only is she a single mother, but she is a beacon of hope and happiness in the world. I could write forever about how she has inspired me to be better and better versions of myself, and how in the darkest of times she 'turns on the light' to help me, but instead, I have to mention how she is the type of person who will pick her battles, and when she does, she doesn't lose them. The way she sets up and maintains her boundaries is so inspiring that I can only admire and hope to be like her one day. Any time I see her on my social medias I am instantly more 'fixed' than I was before, because she is one of those people that doesn't push hate and sadness into the world, she pushes love and courage into her spaces and shares her light and joy with others.

Third, and never last, is my Best Friend Shantelle. When I talk about a ray of sunshine, I mean Shantelle. She is a ray of light in my dark world and if I had never met her I would have never forgiven the color pink, I had hated it for the longest time for no real reason at all. I would've never tried new clothes that gently pushed my boundaries and I would have never learned the art of contagious positivity. Not only does she brighten my days, but she has this ability to contact me when I'm feeling down on myself and recommend movies or TV shows that make me happy cry.

thank you to you three, for inspiring me to be better versions of myself every single day. I hope that as I grow I can learn to be more like you three every chance I get.
